Comments: | I am a crew member of the USS Spiegel Grove LSD 32 out of Little Creek Virginia, from 1965 to 1968 the sea goinest SOB on the Atlantic coast. Found you site by accident but as I was in the Gator Navy I was interested because it was an LST. You have a good site and it is well presented. The Spiegel Grove has a web site also. Would be neet if you could hook up with him and cross reference each other. |

Comments: | Just stumbled upon your website while surfing. But I have recently become fascinated by WWII stories. Unfortunately, in school, they pretty much gloss over WWII. So it is only now while I am in my early 30s that I have begun to learn the real story and to appreciate the tremendous sacrifice of all those who fought in this war. And while I commend the tributes to Vietnam vets, I would also like to see America pay great tributes to the lives we lost in WWII. |

Comments: | The LST"s were not bad ships. I went out the front end of LST"s, in amtracs, many times as a B.A.R. man with the 2nd Bn, 3rd Marines, but not in wartime. Even rode out a typhoon in the Sea of Japan in one and didn"t even get mal de mer but did it rock. Keep up the good work. |
